BSO (Bois et Sciages de l'Ogooué) is the first Gabonese company registered in the PPECF II and III support program, financed by KfW to obtain OLB certification.
BSO, a member of UFIGA and registered in the PPECF program, a program supporting companies that want to move towards certification and thus benefiting from financial/technical support, has received OLB EF and OLB CoC certification.
ATIBT would like to congratulate the management and the entire team and staff of BSO for the work done.
Despite the difficult times due to the COVID crisis, economic difficulties and evacuation/logistics problems, BSO has stayed the course to achieve this. A second level is now in preparation, i.e. PAFC or FSC certification.
BSO is the first Gabonese company registered in the KfW-funded PPECF II and III support program that has obtained OLB certification.
The PPECF program was in phase II managed by ATIBT and locally by UFIGA. The collaboration with ATIBT allowed UFIGA to create a real dynamic for the certification.
We would like to congratulate Mrs. Françoise Van de Ven, General Delegate of UFIGA, and Mr. Hugues MOUIDY, UFIGA Certification Focal Point. The Management Unit of the PPECF Project as well as TEREA, who supported and coached BSO for the implementation of the work plan, should also be congratulated for this result.
Finally, like UFIGA, we also thank KfW, the PPECF program and the support of Germany to improve the management of the Congo Basin forest by supporting companies volunteering for certification.
Like UFIGA, we hope that other companies enrolled in the program will soon follow!
