AFD launches a call for expressions of interest on the integration of biodiversity in economic sectors

This call for expressions of interest concerns the mainstreaming of biodiversity in economic sectors. It aims to support research on  transformative changes in development models and the mobilization of financial resources to finance these changes.

Three sectors are concerned by the ECOPRONAT program: agriculture including forestry, land use planning, and urban development.

The objective of the research should be to document the research results and experiments on biodiversity mainstreaming in these three sectors, and to provide tools and insights that are useful for the design and implementation of official development assistance projects in the concerned sectors.

Universities and research centers, NGOs, private foundations, international research centers and companies (including consultancy firms and individual consultants), which will make all their research public, are eligible to be research proponents.

All AFD countries of intervention are eligible, but a non-exclusive geographical priority to partner countries of the Biodev 2030 Facility will be sought: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Fiji, Gabon, Guinea, Guyana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, and Vietnam.

This call for expressions of interest will close on May 28, 2021.
