The One Forest Summit to be held in Libreville on March 1st and 2nd, organized by the French and Gabonese governments, will be a key event for actors involved in the fight against climate change and the protection of tropical forests. The ATIBT will be present alongside actors committed to a global reflection on the sustainable management of tropical forests.
This summit is intended to be a privileged opportunity to advance actions in favor of the preservation of biodiversity and to promote North-South solidarity, which is essential for the protection of tropical forests.
The meetings will focus on three main topics: promoting scientific cooperation on rainforests, fostering sustainable value chains, and unlocking innovative sources of financing.
This third topic is in line with the ATIBT's reflections on payment for ecosystem services and carbon and biodiversity certificates. We will publish in the perspective of the One Forest Summit an article on the challenges of biodiversity certificates.
