CAFI is launching a call for Expressions of Interest today to all relevant implementing organizations interested in investing in private sector companies in its partner countries (the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo, the Gabonese Republic, the Republic of Cameroon, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Central African Republic) to address the drivers of deforestation and forest degradation
The first objective of this call for expressions of interest is to complete the list of implementing organizations already compiled by CAFI (all these organizations are listed here).
Following this call, $100 million will be made available to selected implementing organizations in the form of project development grants, investment grants to deploy a blended finance approach, and performance-based grants.
In addition, this call for expressions of interest aims to create a reserve of projects: companies, although not eligible for CAFI funding, are also invited to answer this call. They will be able to propose projects, which will then be managed by implementing organizations. Companies can therefore play an important role in building CAFI's private sector portfolio.
An FAQ will soon be available online, based on questions sent to eoi.cafi@undp.org. An information session, the date of which will be announced shortly, will be organized in the near future.
For further information, please consult the call for expression of interest on the CAFI website.
