Ilomba is an exotic timber species found in the tropical regions of Africa. It is a yellow-brown wood, used in particular for interior design.

Ilomba is a tropical tree reaching 35 m in height and 1.5 m in diameter. Its trunk, straight and slender, is either cylindrical or with slight buttresses at the base, covered with a gray to blackish bark. The leaves are very elongated and can measure up to 30 cm long.
The tropical timber ilomba is used in carpentry and interior design for the manufacture of plywood, furniture, and moldings.

The distribution area of the tropical species ilomba extends from West Africa (Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria,) to Central Africa (Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, DRC), to East Africa (Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia).
The exotic species ilomba is a non-deciduous species of dense evergreen and semi-deciduous rainforests. It grows mainly in old secondary forests. Its seeds are dispersed by animals from July to February.
