After the signature of the Financing Agreement CZZ2499 between AFD and RIFFEAC on 03 February 2020, the signature of a project management delegation agreement between RIFFEAC and ATIBT on 23 April 2020, and the recruitment of the Technical Implementation Team (TIT) in March 2020, the ADEFAC project effectively started on 1 April 2020.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the sustainable management of the forests of the Congo Basin, through the development of a continuous training offer for the forest-wood sector (upstream and downstream) in Central African countries.
Four countries are priority beneficiaries of the ADEFAC project: Cameroon, Congo, Gabon and DRC.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the start-up activities will be carried out from April to June 2020 by teleworking. The EET will have to develop, validate and make operational all the project management documents.
At the end of this 3-month start-up phase, EET will approach in each target country the private sector, administrations and training institutions to :
Because of the COVID19 virus, these exchanges will first take place through telephone and video conference interviews, and if possible, individual physical meetings. We hope to be able to organize national workshops to present the project in the last quarter of the year, or the first quarter of 2021. The ADEFAC project, financed by AFD, has a five-year duration and will contribute to the sustainable improvement of the match between training supply and demand, as well as to building the capacity of the private sector and training institutions to manage and deliver high quality training.
