Protection of wildlife
The forests of the Congo Basin are home to over 400 mammal and 1,000 bird species.
Thanks to their sustainable management, Fair&Precious forest concessions ensure the preservation of wildlife habitats and implement anti-poaching programmes. In addition, communication routes developed within the forest assist mobility of large mammals, which has resulted in repopulation of various species.
Protection of plants
The Congo Basin is home to over 10,000 species of plants that Fair&Precious forest management works to preserve.
This biodiversity is a tremendous asset, of which many treasures are yet to be discovered. This is why Fair&Precious foresters invite the scientific community and NGOs to develop and share their knowledge of biodiversity. This work has also resulted in commercialization of new timber species, with the goal of reducing harvesting of the most widely used varieties.
