Ovengkol is a large tropical tree that can reach 45 m in height and 80 cm in diameter. Its bole is straight and slender, covered with an ash-gray bark marked with fine vertical cracks.
The tropical wood ovengkol is a durable material that is resistant to termites, funghi and dry wood insects. It is mainly used in cabinet making, especially for high class furniture, and in exterior joinery.
